Maritime NZ is seeking a Business Operations Coordinator to join the Sector Engagement and Collaboration team within our Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Group, based in Wellington or Auckland.
Maritime New Zealand is the national regulatory compliance and response agency for the safety, security and marine protection of New Zealand’s coastal and inland waterways. What we do touches the lives of many New Zealanders, as well as international visitors and sea-borne traffic – on a daily basis. Our maritime environment is vital to New Zealand’s prosperity, security and social wellbeing – providing valuable employment, trade, tourism and recreational opportunities.
About the role:
This role manages the operational and administrative responsibilities of the Sector Engagement and Collaboration team, including the support of projected work activities, the development and implementation of a number of end to end processes, and event management logistics. We are keen to find someone who enjoys working with systems and creating new ways of improving processes. Finance systems familiarity is essential, as is confidence around the preparations of budgets, tracking financial expenditure, diary management and organising team travel.
You’ll provide back up to other Maritime New Zealand Administrators, arrange stakeholder meetings, as well as update policies and procedures and so you’ll need plenty of energy and fantastic time management skills.
About the team:
The Sector Engagement and Collaboration team is responsible for developing and coordinating opportunities for the regulator to engage with industry, organisations and co-regulators in the Maritime Sector. Also, the team leads key projects such as common compliance, stakeholder engagement, and recreational boating safety.
Team members are specialists in understanding the concepts of a risk focused, intelligence led modern regulator, and play a key strategic engagement role within many parts of MNZs day to day function.
If you believe you have the skills and experience we are looking for, please review the Position Description and apply via the Maritime New Zealand’s Careers Page.
